The 2011 Asian Winter Games from Kazakhstan in February saw some hard-fought alpine ski battles. In the end it was South Korean Slytech Athlete Jung Dong-hyun on top in men's super combined event.
Congratulations Jung Dong-hyun and our South Korean Slytech distributor Mr. Yong-Chul Kim of TOLES. The whole Slytech Team in Europe and the USA sends you big-up!
Pad up, baby... Slytech's 2nd Skin Wolle Nyvelt Edition is covered in February's Transworld Mag! Check it out...
Rockin the Slytech Nerve Series 4Arm Guards and 2nd Skin Backpro Superlite, Ted Ligety skied to a Giant Slalom gold medal victory at  FIS World Championship's in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany on February 18th, 2011.
He came back from a  4th place the first run to win by  0.08 seconds. Ted is on top of his game now... check out his run down below.
Congratulations, Ted!
In December 2009, Tyler and i we booked tickets to Seattle on a moments notice when a series of storms buried the northwest. Â As their legs cramped up in economy class, the flakes falling at Alpental and every other resort in the area became raindrops and the snow conditions went south - for the entire duration of their stay.
Any avid snowboarder knows that conditions in the mountains are always changing. Â Often times, when you want to ride really bad the snow is far from good. Â Film crews have to work hard at forecasting storms to be in the right places at the right times. Â One of the most difficult parts of the game we play is trying to stick it out through the rough patches the season serves us regularly.
Here we are again in January 2011, running from rain in the Northwest and chasing hints of snow as if our life and sanity depend on it. Â At last, we parked ourselves (after 15+ hours on the road) in a region that winter has not forgotten and actually seems to be smiling upon. Now all we have to do is smile back!

So nonchalant, yet so on... you just got to love talent. Here we got Antti-Juhani Piirainen in the Pool.
Makes me think to strap on my 2nd Skin and try my hand at it (yeah right...). I'm probably past my prime for that, but for younger kids looking to go through hard knox and earn their mettle, it may not be a bad thing to strap on.

Slytech just came out of SIA in Denver with some great results: so many people were excited about the gear and new additions. Sales reps loved the new DuPont Zytel armguards and new Ted Ligety Pro Model Shin Guard. The new junior vest was super well received and many stores are already ordering product. We'll post the newest Slytech Innovations when they're available to be released.
Also, if you're looking for more Slytech in more stores, they're coming! So along with the online Slytech store, you'll be able to try 'em on at a local shop soon, scope 'em out and find your perfect size, etc...
FOR ANYONE ATTENDING ISPO IN MUNICH: on Feb 7th at 11:00AM at booth #116 in Hall A1, Ted Ligety will be there signing autographs.
I don't think there is any more needed evidence that Kitzbuehel is vicious. I'm not sure what Austrian Skier Has Grugger's status is (anybody know?), but not matter which way you look at it, this crash is bad: shattered skis, the thud, the full impact on the back... insane.
If indeed he is OK, which we are all praying for, a back protector most likely a big contributing factor to things not being worse.
This clip is not for the faint of heart. Don't watch if you can't handle.
Skier Name: Grant Giller
Crash Location: Breckenridge, Colorado
Slam Detail:Hi im Grant for Colorado and this is my slam. I was trying a back rodeo 7 and came up 90 degrees short. Allthough I fell on the 7, back rodeo 5s are one of my favorite tricks.

Disclaimer: Slytech is NOT doing this contest to make light or sensationalize horrible ski or snowboard slams and accidents. Quite to the contrary, we are doing this to highlight how common it is to get into accidents on the mountain (or wherever people ski and snowboard). We are advocating AWARENESS and PROTECTION. When you lessen the probability of serious injury then you gain more days on snow and are ultimately happier.
Help us highlight the importance of protection by submitting your slam video and enter to win a free back protector.
