Well, another month, another set of prizes. January 2011 prizes are awarded to:
3rd Place: Dylan Holt with whopping 1 FB Like. Not awesome, Dylan, but enough to get you the T-Shirt!
2nd Place: Matt Wimberly, you fetched 13 FB Likes and no Tweets. You get a Slytech Hoodie for your for your broken leg in North Carolina.
1st Place: Grant Giller with his spill trying a Rodeo 7. He got 16 FB Likes and 1 Tweet. Sweetness, Grant, you win the Slytech 2nd Skin Back Protector! Check his snowboard slam video here.
Congratulations everyone! Grant, you earned that back protector. Nice work.
I don't think there is any more needed evidence that Kitzbuehel is vicious. I'm not sure what Austrian Skier Has Grugger's status is (anybody know?), but not matter which way you look at it, this crash is bad: shattered skis, the thud, the full impact on the back... insane.
If indeed he is OK, which we are all praying for, a back protector most likely a big contributing factor to things not being worse.
This clip is not for the faint of heart. Don't watch if you can't handle.
Skier Name: Grant Giller
Crash Location: Breckenridge, Colorado
Slam Detail:Hi im Grant for Colorado and this is my slam. I was trying a back rodeo 7 and came up 90 degrees short. Allthough I fell on the 7, back rodeo 5s are one of my favorite tricks.

Disclaimer: Slytech is NOT doing this contest to make light or sensationalize horrible ski or snowboard slams and accidents. Quite to the contrary, we are doing this to highlight how common it is to get into accidents on the mountain (or wherever people ski and snowboard). We are advocating AWARENESS and PROTECTION. When you lessen the probability of serious injury then you gain more days on snow and are ultimately happier.

Skier Name: Dylan Holt
Crash Location: Idaho Backcountry
Slam Detail: I'm 25 yrs old, I have been snowboarding for 16 yrs and I ride the backcountry of Idaho in the winter with my friends, this is a slam from a couple of years ago that was pretty gnarly. For my entry for best slam here, I was trying to ride these pillows and as you can see on the 2nd try, I hit the tree pretty hard, I thought I broke my hip but it was just really bruised.

Skier Name: Pete Tupper
Crash Location: Sanya Bay, Hainan, China
Slam Detail: We took a snowboard to the beach in China and spent an afternoon asking local drivers to tow us. The rickshaws were too slow, so we found a big car and couldn't communicate the speed to the driver properly... And then this happened!

The November Slam Contest is closed (12 midnight EST). The votes are in. Any votes that come in after this post has published (midnight EST) are NOT counted.
It was a hard-faught battle between Libby, the J3 Racer from Middlebury, Vermont who crashed hard in her GS race and Cedar Jocks, the man who attracted a love-hate relationship with people in the blog comment area, a freeskier who ripped his derriere wide open in Breckenridge, Colorado.
It was neck and neck for the 4 days since Cedar submitted, with Libby getting mad support from her friends on Facebook. It looked like she might just catch up to Cedar...
... but in the end, it was...
Thank you everyone for participating and for those who are a bit are a bit heated about the final outcome, I can only tell you to come back in December, submit your best slam vid and get those votes in.
