Marco Feichtner Summer Activities

Marco Feichtner checked in with us and shot us some pics of a recent surf trip to Portugal. OK, while I don't see any waves in the pics whatsoever, I'm sure there much have been a swell that came through at one time or another. In any case -- as expected -- Fichtl and the snowboard crew had a killer time with plenty of smiles. Ya gotta love that.

Balls-out.

Turns out that Marco tweaked his neck on after slamming hard on a massive jump. Actually, this pic was taken moments before the fateful impact. Yeah, his back was spared, but what can you do about whiplash besides not hit ramps like this in the first place?

Marco Feichtner Last Powder Day

Well, all good things come to an end, and it looks like Marco Feichtner (aka Fichtl) may have had his last day of powder for this season. He was out shooting pics on this killer powder day with Gigi, Björn, Ludsch and Flo, when he got bitten by a landing and twister his shoulder again. He reports that he'll have to spend a good amount of days resting and recuperating.

Check out the sweet pics... he didn't disclose where this is, but I want to go!

Wolle Nyvelt Action

Austrian flow master Wolle Nyvelt recently checked-in and told us of the not-so-great news that he tweaked his knee while out on assignment. Pain intense and fearing the worst, Wolle set out to check with a knee specialist.

Much to his surprise, he was told he did not require year-ending surgery, but instead there was enough left of his ligaments to go straight in to rehab. That means, rather than spend 9 months sidelined, he's out only 6-8 weeks. Already looking forward to get on the ride, he's looking to hit it in the summer time already.

I wonder what he's doing right now... maybe popping in videos like this one, reminiscing what it was like to have his body in one piece...

I've seen a lot of snowboard and ski action flicks, but this one seems to have something extra special about the cinematography and editing. There's something pretty damn slick about. Romain de Marchi and the YES Crew Hit Whistler Blackcomb

Some more insane high-flying action coming your way courtesy of Romain de Marchi and his YES Crew. Here they hit Whistler-Blackcomb backcountry and just hit some big stuff. Watching this makes me just cringe at the high-stakes maneuvers they're hucking. Any miscalculation when you're throwing yourself over 30 foot cliffs has serious consequences. Yes, these guys are highly talented athletes with a body control that rivals some of the world's best, but while they shun the head protection, it's at least a little calming to know they wear back protection.

But don't take my word for it... see this insane action for yourself...

Wolle and Company Hit AK in the Last Flipside [must see video]

Wolle, Lucas, Nicolas, Jake and Bode hit Alaska in this, the last installment of Absinth's FLIPSIDE behind the scenes. Watching this makes me really realize and totally 100% appreciate the athletic prowess of these guys. They do things at such high speeds and from such huge heights that even the smallest miscalculation or error can mean certain doom.

Hats off to these guys.

Lisa Filzmoser Rockin’ Canada Trip

Hey there!

After having an awesome time in Japan we (Alvaro, Nicholas, Prendi and me)Â went to Canada for the second trip of our project. There we met up with ourÂ G Mr. Mario KÃ¤ppeli and snowboarding storyteller and iconic photograph MarkÂ Gallup.

After running through airports, almost missing flights and super slow passÂ controls we finally arrived in Kelowna interior BC. Some of our boardbagsÂ didn't quite make it in time and our filmer being really sick and ourÂ photographer having a stomach flue, Nico, Alva, Mario and me checked out theÂ Monashee area and built a kicker on our first day.Â We had four incredible days there, doing drops, cliffs, lines and a kicker.

Next stop K3 operations, a bit further north. There we stayed down in theÂ valley at a hotel, and got driven up every day. The terrain looked so sick,Â real alpine stuff, but unluckily everything on the top was really windblown, so we couldnt do all the good stuff. It looked so nice.

But we found some stuff to do in the woods and on the last day I must haveÂ really fallen in love with one tree and headed home with three stitches.Â Please wear helmets when you go ride!

All in all we had a blast, thanks to Monashee Powder and K3 !

Sick terrain, good snow, amazing food and a lot more...

Thank you Mark for taking us to such a sick place.
