In December 2009, Tyler and i we booked tickets to Seattle on a moments notice when a series of storms buried the northwest. Â As their legs cramped up in economy class, the flakes falling at Alpental and every other resort in the area became raindrops and the snow conditions went south - for the entire duration of their stay.
Any avid snowboarder knows that conditions in the mountains are always changing. Â Often times, when you want to ride really bad the snow is far from good. Â Film crews have to work hard at forecasting storms to be in the right places at the right times. Â One of the most difficult parts of the game we play is trying to stick it out through the rough patches the season serves us regularly.
Here we are again in January 2011, running from rain in the Northwest and chasing hints of snow as if our life and sanity depend on it. Â At last, we parked ourselves (after 15+ hours on the road) in a region that winter has not forgotten and actually seems to be smiling upon. Now all we have to do is smile back!

Lisa Filzmoser, Austrian Slytech athlete, has a sweet part in an upcoming La Famiglia movie called "Never Get Older." Take a look and then go to the Euro Rider of the Year website (click on the image below) to vote for her as "Best Female Video Part of the Year" in section 3 on the right.
I don't know about you, but I only wish I could shred like her...

Check out Slytech rider Naku hit the mini pipe...
When he's not on the mountain absolutely ripping it up, he's out skating. This from a recent email sesh:
"It's been the hottest summer ever in Finland, so i've just been skating, swimming, playing etc. while not working... "
Funny, everyone else I talk to in Europe says they had exactly 3 weeks of summer. How does Finland get the hottest summer and the mainland gets nothing?
Well, whatever, Naku took the time to send us this little skate clip...
You just got to love it when people just go for it in life. So many people don't or can't seem to assert themselves and live a life they were destined for. Rather than daring to dream and jumping headlong into that dream, many toil in unmindful repetition and end up like Kevin Spacey in American Beauty.
Lisa Filzmoser, a diehard Slytech wearer from Austria is one of these people who dared to dream, jump into that dream and carve a life out for herself that's authentically her.
This post is dedicated to all those -- especially our femmes fatales -- who take that first step and never stop going for their dreams!

YESnowboard is making waves in the snowboard industry. Known for affordable, yet solid design and build quality, the boards are equally fun-inspiring as the YES team riders are. Gone are the boring board, distribution and marketing meetings of old-school snowboard companies, and in are debaucherous, hard rippin' and "family-style" tropical work vacations.
In these videos, the Yes team meets up in El Salvador to hit the waves for some good surf, knock-back shots, and ohhh yeah, have business meetings.
Freakin' hilarious to watch, it inspires us to go travel, discover new locations, and maybe even dream about having business meetings as relaxed as this. Careful though, there is some foul language in there. If you're sensitive to F-bombs and the like, maybe don't watch them.

Hot off the presses... Slytech Protection's Partnership with Absinthe CONTINUES this year with the sponsorship of NOW HERE.
Slytech shredders in this movie include once again: Wolfgang "Wolle" Nyvelt and Romain de Marchi.
The larger than life snowboard video teaser has already fetched over 2500 views in a matter 2 hours of having been posted. The frenzy is justified...

Just stumbled across this video and was blown away by the amazing shots and insane riding action. Slytech's very-own Wolfgang Nyvelt hits some just crazy peaks that just give you chicken skin...
Riding the mountains seems like a distant memory for most us right now in the northern hemisphere. With the whole country in dark red temps, this seems to be the only hope we've got right now...
That is, unless you live our in Mount Hood, where the summer season is in full swing.
Another Absinthe Neverland produced video that this time features 2008 Transworld Rider of the Year Wolfgang "Wolle" Nyvelt.
We've been featuring this and a video with Romain de Marchi for several months now on our home page without sound (many people say, hitting a site and suddenly hit with startling sound, that's annoying), and so now here it is WITH sound.
Wolle has always had a sort of mild-mannered style all his own. His flow-y style is probably a direct result of his go-with-the -flow, mellow demeanor.
Enjoy this video and listen to how Wolle answers the question: Â Can I Trust a Back Protector I Can't Even Feel?
